Fast and really sharp

Before I bought this lens, I had the 1.8D and a 1.4AIS, both 50mm. The 1.8G ist definitely the best of these three optics. It's lighter than the 1.4, has much faster and more precise AF and better build quality than the 1.8D and has this nice retro look in the special edition version. The images show perfect sharpness, colour and bokeh. With the weather-sealing it is the best companion on my D3 for every day use.
