We wanted a vitamix because of its ability to provide unparallelled texture. With that, it has definitely succeeded. We've blended nuts almost to juice. This is the first blender than has made it possible for me to even contemplate trying green smoothies rather than chewing on mush. The only drawback is that it is very loud, and we've been using it everyday for over a week and it still has a lot of heat coming out of the motor. It's a tad disconcerting for such a premium product. If you are really concerned about the texture, then this is the one to go for.
