Productomschrijving

Water-based printing ink for light and dark fabrics free of finishes and fabric conditioners (max. 20 % synthetic fibre content). The ink is highly viscous (dilute with water if necessary). It is slow-drying. It is ideal for techniques such as screen or relief printing. After drying, fix in the oven (8 minutes/150 °C) or iron without steam for 3 minutes. Washable up to 40 °C after fixing.\n\nHOW IT WORKS:\n\nRelief printing:\n1. Transfer your motif to the soft printing plate using a pencil and then cut it out with the cutting tool. The V-shaped cutter is good for fine lines, whereas the large flat cutter can be used to cut wide lines and large areas. NOTE: The motif has to be applied as a mirror image. This is especially important when working with letters. Make sure the cuts are not too deep to prevent the board from breaking up.\n\n2. Take up ink with the foam roller and roll onto the printing plate. The raised motif needs to be completely covered with a thin layer of ink.\n\n3. Position the printing plate on the fabric and press it down applying slight pressure. Carefully remove the plate from the fabric. When printing is complete, quickly clean the printing plate with water and allow it to dry.\n\n4. After drying, fix the fabric in the oven (8 minutes/150 °C) or iron without steam for 3 minutes. Use a sponge to thoroughly moisten the area on which the watercolour motif is to be painted. The wetter the fabric, the more the watercolour will keep flowing. Or use the brush to paint the watercolour onto the fabric. The wetter the brush, the more the paint will keep flowing. For drying and fi xing, place the damp motif flat on baking paper and then in the oven (8 minutes/150 °C) after fixing, the fabric is washable up to 40 °C.\n\nScreen printing:\n\n1. Transfer the motif to the stencil material and then cut it out using the cutter.\n2. There are two options for stencilling: a negative and a positive stencil. With a negative stencil, the lines and shapes of the motif are cut out. These areas will be white afterwards. The rest will be printed in colour. With a positive stencil, the lines and shapes of the motif remain and the other areas are removed.\n\n3. Stick the stencil to the flat side of the screen using adhesive tape.\n\n4. Position the screen on the side of the fabric to be printed. The flat side of the screen rests on the fabric. If letters are used, they should now be readable through the screen and not back-to-front. Apply a line of ink approximately 1 cm wide to the top edge of the screen.\n\n5. Use the squeegee to spread the ink over the motif from top to bottom without pressure. Make sure all areas to be printed are covered in ink. The screen is flooded. Next, draw the squeegee over the motif from top to bottom applying even pressure. This transfers the ink to the fabric. Carefully lift the screen off the fabric. Re-flood the screen with ink after each process. When the printing process is complete, clean the Screen and stencil immediately and leave to dry.\n\n6. After drying, fix the fabric in the oven (8 minutes / 150 °C) or iron without steam for 3 minutes. After fixing, the fabric is washable up to 40 °C.\n\nScreen Printing with Marabu TEXTIL PRINT\nScreen printing is a method of printing that involves forcing the printing ink through a fi nely woven mesh onto the fabric using a squeegee. In the areas of the fabric where no ink is to be printed, according to the printed image, the openings of the mesh are made impermeable to ink. The motif is cut out and can then be reproduced. Paper stencilling is a particularly convenient method of working. All you need is a screen, a stencil, a cutter, some adhesive tape, a squeegee, and the printing ink TEXTIL PRINT.\n\nRelief printing with Marabu TEXTIL PRINT\nRelief printing is a printing process used to print motifs on fabrics without the need for a lot of equipment. Working with the rubber carving block is easy. The motif is cut into the plate and can then be reproduced. You will need a soft printing plate, a cutting tool, a foam roller, and the printing ink TEXTIL PRINT. After fixing, the printed motifs can be coloured with the watercolour paint TEXTIL AQUARELLE.
