With real anticipation I took the box home from the store and opened it. Carefully packed, the lens is in a carrying case. The feels is just right, not as heavy as I thought. But heavy enough to know that this is a quality lens with real good glass inside. The first test shots with my A7R III did not disappoint. The RAW images in Lightroom show just how sharp this lens is. Sure, you can argue about getting the f4 lens, but I am a person who does pixel peep, and this lens assured me I made the right purchase. Lens distortion becomes somewhat noticeable at 16mm, but edge to edge sharpness at this focal length is still there. LR takes care of any vignetting or distortion and the images are not warped. Using the higher focal lengths there are no problems and going from f2.8 upward, you see that wide open, the lens is magnificent, but really finds its clarity at around f11. When the lenshood (petaled) is attached backward, the lens becomes very wide. Keep this in mind when fitting it into your lens-bag. I use this lens for landscape photography and some interior shots. The price might be off-putting at first, but this lens will not let you down. The weather sealing adds some soundness of mind as well. I am very happy with this purchase!

Voor mij een ongekend staaltje optische "techniek"; dit objectief is zeer goed hanteerbaar. Het gewicht is uitstekend (niet te zwaar dus...en dat is een hele klus voor een objectief met deze specificaties). Ik heb voor dit, niet goedkope, objectief ondermeer mijn Zeiss Batis 25mm f2 ingeruild. Voor mij is deze lens veel praktischer (meer groothoek en zoom mogelijkheden). De 16-35mm GM geeft me gewoon veel meer (groothoek)mogelijkheden, terwijl de kwaliteit van de foto's beslist niet onderdoet! Zoals gezegd is dit objectief niet goedkoop, maar omdat ik graag bij natuurlijk licht óók binnen/gebouwen fotografeer, komt de f2.8 me goed van pas. Daarnaast onvergelijkbaar in kwaliteit; ik ken op dit moment geen enkel zoomobjectief, dat dezelfde beeldkwaliteit kan leveren. Beeld rendeert heel mooi en het objectief is superscherp. Ongehoord dus! Van harte aanbevolen.
