Are you thinking about taking the SQE? The SQE Survival Guide covers everything you need to know about the SQE assessments and is full of helpful hints and tips for success. Written by expert legal educators, it takes you through the SQE process, alerting you to the common practical and academic pitfalls that trip up unsuspecting candidates, and giving you the tips needed to avoid them.

Of course, passing the SQE is only the start of your journey as a solicitor. To help you thrive in the legal profession, the book also includes advice on managing the start of your career journey and how to develop the necessary professional skills, attitudes, and behaviours that will power you through to the successful, happy, long-term career you deserve.

With advice and guidance on topics including emotional wellbeing, MCQ tactics, skills development, and career planning, this book will support and set you up for SQE success and to flourish as a legal professional.

Note that this book went to print before the SRA announced some minor changes to the SQE1 centralised assessments, effective from the January 2027 sitting. These changes will reduce the number of questions in each SQE1 paper by 10, and subjects will now be grouped within each paper. For more details, as well as information about any subsequent changes, please consult the SRA’s SQE website.
