Still Tredition Still Here Hardcover

SynopsisStill Here is the autobiography of German aircraft builder, aviation researcher, museum founder and author Achim Engels.Beginning with an unusually free and adventurous childhood, the book follows the life of a man who decided early on that dreams were not meant to be admired from afar-but built with his own hands. At the age of eighteen, he completed his first full-scale replica of the legendary Fokker Dr.I Triplane. What began as youthful enthusiasm gradually evolved into an international career devoted to reconstructing historic aircraft, preserving forgotten craftsmanship, advising major aviation projects and helping to safeguard one of the most fascinating chapters of aviation history.Yet this is far more than a story about airplanes. It is the story of creativity, perseverance, friendship, loss, family, illness, failure, renewal, and the lifelong determination to keep moving forward.Throughout the narrative, 154 authentic photographs, taken by the author, his family and close companions over several decades, are woven directly into the text. Rather than appearing in a separate picture section, they become part of the storytelling itself, documenting the people, aircraft, workshops and moments exactly where they are described. Together, words and images create an unusually intimate and documentary account of a remarkable life.
