Chitose Station is a railway station operated by JR East's Uchib¿ Line located in Minamib¿s¿, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is 98.6 kilometers from the terminus of the Uchib¿ Line at Soga Station. Chitose Station was opened on May 20, 1927 as a temporary stop. It was elevated to a full station on August 1, 1930. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987. A new station building was completed in February 2007.
