Life Friesenpress Life after Trauma Hardcover

Friday rolled around, and it was such a beautiful day until later in the evening when the storm clouds rolled in. That evening became my family's worst nightmare. . .Life After Trauma is a heartbreaking but inspiring account of suicide, childhood trauma, domestic violence, and abuse, and the struggle and strength it takes for one woman to triumph over adversity, rebuild her life, and learn to trust herself again. Told with frankness and honesty, it follows the author's life from her childhood in rural Newfoundland, through married life in New Brunswick, and on to new beginnings in Alberta. Along the way, it sheds important light on the complexity of adverse childhood experiences and intimate partner violence, and the extent of the trauma these can inflict. It also sheds light on the power of a mother's love for her children, the persistence of hope, and the resilience of the human heart, showing that, no matter how hard things get, there really can be life after trauma.
