Heterosis, Lap Lambert Academic Publishing Heterosis, Genetic Analysis and Stability Studies in Sesame

In present study all the parents and seven fatty acid estimated hybrids had an amount of oleic and linoleic acids with the value of over 80 per cent which increases the quality of sesame oil. Overall the parent V-29, TBS-105 and TBS-10 were identified based on high per se performance, significant GCA effect for seed yield per plant and attributing traits. Out of 28 crosses studied TBS-7 x TBS-12, TBS-105 x V-29, TBS-10 x V-29, TBS-105 x R-09, TBS-7 x V-29 and TBS-12 x R-09 had high per se performance, SCA effects and significant heterotic effects in desirable direction for seed yield and most of the associated traits. These crosses together with crosses identified based on combining ability, per se performance and heterobeltiosis offer good opportunity for future improvement programmes in sesame.
