Most people start Ezekiel at chapter 38 with Gog and Magog. That's like starting a map in the middle.Ezekiel 33 to 48 is not out of order. It is a step-by-step restoration map that starts with bad shepherds who scattered the flock and ends with a city called "THE LORD IS THERE."This book lets the text put itself in order - in plain layman's language.You will see from the text itself: The land like Eden - Ezekiel 36:35 says the desolate land becomes "like the garden of Eden." When? The text says "for they will soon come home" 36:8. That happened after Babylon. Nehemiah 6:16 says the nations around saw God rebuilt it. That is past, not new earth.The dry bones - Ezekiel 37:11 says "these bones are the whole house of Israel." Verse 12 defines the graves and the resurrection in the same sentence: "I will open your graves and bring you into the land of Israel." Graves = exile. Coming out = Cyrus decree 537 BC. Not 1948.The Good Shepherd - Ezekiel 34:5 "no shepherd" so sheep scattered. Ezekiel 34:23 "I will set up one shepherd, my servant David." Jesus says "I am the good shepherd" John 10:11. He came to seek the lost.No man left at Second Coming - Four witnesses say the same thing:
Jeremiah 25:33 "slain of the LORD from one end of the earth even unto the other... not gathered, not buried."
Isaiah 24:1 "the LORD maketh the earth empty"
Jeremiah 4:25 "there was no man"
Revelation 19:21 "remnant were slain... fowls filled with flesh"
All wicked slain, earth empty. No nations left for Gog.1000 Years in Heaven, Earth Empty - Revelation 20:4 "they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years" - John 14:3 "that where I am, there ye may be also." Saints in heaven, Satan bound because Revelation 20:3 "that he should deceive the nations no more" - no nations to deceive.Gog after the 1000 Years - Revelation 20:5 "rest of dead lived not again until thousand years finished" - that's where Gog gets his armies. Ezekiel 38-39 = Revelation 20:7-9. Fire from God devours them. Weapons burn 7 years 39:9. Bodies buried 7 months 39:12 to cleanse the land.Forever Means Forever - Ezekiel 37:25 "dwell in land... for ever," 37:28 "my sanctuary in midst for evermore," 43:7 "where I will dwell... for ever." Forever cannot be during empty earth.
