Effect Our Knowledge Publishing Effect of Marble Powder and Slag on BHP Paperback

This book presents a study on the use of marble powder (MP) and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) as partial substitutes for Portland cement in high-performance concrete (HPC). Fifteen mixtures were evaluated to analyze their workability, compressive strength, porosity, and durability. Reliable predictive statistical models were developed using JMP7 and Design-Expert 13 software. The results show that moderate incorporation of GGBFS improves workability and reduces porosity, while marble powder contributes to improved short-term mechanical strengths. The mixture containing 5% GGBFS offers the best balance between mechanical performance and durability. The tests also confirm a reduction in permeability and water absorption, reflecting an improvement in the concrete's microstructure. This study demonstrates that GGBFS and marble powder are environmentally friendly and cost-effective materials for the production of sustainable high-performance concrete.
